It's two phrases, two countries, one feeling. “Qué chimba” is Colombian slang for something wonderful, exciting, worth talking about. “Ñaño” is the Ecuadorian word for brother, friend, someone who's family even when they're not blood. Put together, it's how we describe this whole project: a genuinely great thing, built by people who treat each other like family — no matter which country they're from.
Que Chimba Ñaño exists because moving to a new country can feel isolating, even in a city as big as New York. We started sharing local stories, festival recommendations, and family activities so that Latino families here never have to feel like they're figuring it out alone — there's a whole community already finding the good spots, and we want you to find them too.
From weekend markets in Sullivan County to family-run restaurants in New York City, Latino culture shows up everywhere across our service area — you just have to know where to look. We spotlight the festivals, the family-owned businesses, and the everyday corners of New York and New Jersey where that culture is alive and thriving.
